You wake up Monday morning after a weekend that went by too quickly wondering to yourself: “How could it already be Monday again?!”. You roll over usually getting up on the wrong side of the bed waking sleep from your eyes and thinking what a horrible long week this is about to be. But hey you have to go and you know it so why not make the day enjoyable and set yourself up for a successful week. Here are five ways to not get Monday-ed
1. Set your alarm and little bit earlier than usual.
Doing this gives you a couple more times to be able to hit the snooze button and mentally prepare yourself to get out of bed.
2. Take a morning shower.
If you usually are someone who showers after work or before when it comes to surviving Mondays showering the morning is key. Give yourself the time to take a long one and relax before the long day and week ahead of you.
3. Treat yourself to a nice cup of coffee.
If you normally brew from home let Monday be the day you splurge and go to your favorite coffee shop because this day is already hard enough so you deserve it.
4. Plan something for after work.
Make dinner plans with your significant other, see an evening movie, or meet for a cocktail with friends. Whatever it is if you have something going on after your Monday workday you have something to look forward to that will get you through it.
5. Go into it with a good attitude.
Most of the problem with Mondays is that it has such a negative stigma that makes it harder to shake off the bad attitude going into the first day of your workweek. Instead go into it knowing that you aren’t alone and that there are people all over the world struggling just as much as you are. Mondays are rough but being in a bad mood will only make it worse but just know that you are one day closer to the weekend.
