As you probably know, we’re all about showcasing the exceptionally talented and profoundly inspired women out there and felt we were overdue for another installment in one of our favorite series. And so, here we are with another roundup of some of the baddest babes you’re going to find anywhere!
P.S., if you missed Vol. 5, go on ahead and click!
We’re starting off with a bang. If you weren’t yet aware, Lakey Peterson is a full-time, 23-year-old professional surfer currently holding down the #1 spot in the World Surf League (WSL) and the #6 position in the ASP Women’s World Ranking. A native of Santa Barbara, California, she is renowned for (among other things) landing the first-ever aerial in the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s (NSSA) women’s competition. In other words, her badassery isn’t even close to being in doubt!
Growing up in St. Martin, it’s no wonder Andy has a passion for surfing. Also a qualified Yogi and a writer with a Masters in Journalism, she keeps up a surf blog, No Shoes, No Worries, and indulges her wanderlust by jumping from Sydney to Sri Lanka, France to Bali, and points in-between. (Yo, we need a vacation, Andy… take us on a trip with you sometime!)
Pro skateboarder, Lizzie Armanto, stoked the fires of her skating passion back in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since. She nabbed top honors in the World Cup of Skateboarding points race from 2010 through 2012, grabbed gold at the inaugural Women’s Skateboard Park event at X Games Barcelona in 2013, and has collected more than 30 awards in the sport.
A badass? You’re damn right she’s a badass.
We like to feature a lot of athletes here but let’s switch it up and shine a spotlight on the talented Dominique Montesano. She’s a filmmaker, graphic designer, and illustrator that does some dope work, as you can see below (she’s available for freelance and commission work). Oh, and her other job? Being a proud poodle owner!
Staying with the arts, if you’re looking for some incredible handpainted pieces, Brook has got ya. (Check out her website gallery and available art collection!) The travel bug bit her long ago, too, so it’s not uncommon to catch her bouncing from Bali to Sri Lanka—perfect, really, since the gorgeous vistas act as sublime inspiration for her craft.
You can bet we’ll have “Vol. 7” cooked up for ya soon, so keep with us!
