Soooo, not sure if you missed the HUGE news, but our forever #WCW (we really should have posted this blog on a Wednesday, come to think of it), Lakey Peterson, just totally owned the fourth stop on the World Surfing League Championship Tour.
Yup. The pro surfer and Blenders rep won her first title of the season at Margaret River Pro this past week in Western Australia, downing Tatiana Weston-Webb in the finals after taking out seven-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore and earning the highest heat score of any pro on the tour—man or woman—for the 2019 season. As a result, Lakey is now #6 overall on the global leaderboard heading into the fifth stop on the tour.
Click here if you wish to peep our full recap from the event; otherwise, we hope you enjoy this awesome new gallery of shots from Lakey’s time in Western Oz courtesy of the uber-talented Trevor Moran.
Congratulations again, Lakey!
