Just win.

That’s Anikha Greer’s personal mantra. The budding Canadian CrossFit wunderkind is as fierce a competitor as there is, and while the beginning of her professional journey has offered no shortage of opportunities to look back at what might have been, this Blenders Entourage athlete remains locked in on Living Forward.

From Spy Kids to Smashing Sets

Anikha’s childhood was fairly unremarkable. She was into what you’d expect — movies, animals, a bit of gymnastics …

… oh, and kicking ass.

The competitive gene within Anikha expressed itself early. Aside from gymnastics, she competed in show jumping as an equestrian. And upon seeing the film Spy Kids (2001), Anikha was so inspired by the combat skills and athletic prowess on display that she abandoned gymnastics and found a trainer that quickly convinced her to try her hand at CrossFit.

Anikha dove headfirst into the CrossFit world at 13. Initially, it was a fun after-school program, but by the age of 15 in 2018, she began competing. Since then, her passion for the sport has snowballed into a full-fledged obsession.

Dreams Delayed

With a rock-solid work ethic and a dedication to blowing past any and all obstacles, Anikha swiftly rose to prominence as one of the world’s most talented teenage CrossFit competitors.

Speaking with the CBC on what attracted her to the sport early on, Greer says, “You have to be good at everything — cardio, lifting, grunt work, swimming, running, gymnastics, mental toughness, you name it, you have to be able to do it.”

But while the appreciation for the sport and often the results have long been in place, fortune hasn’t always been on Anikha’s side.

Ahead of the 2020 CrossFit Games, Anikha was a favorite for the “Fittest Teen” award in the 16-17-year-old division, but COVID’s arrival canceled all group divisions, robbing her of that recognition. In 2021, she narrowly missed out on her first Games invite, finishing behind fellow Canadian Sydney Michalyshen for the final spot by only 11 points. And in 2022, a score submission technical error for her Workout 5 time at the 2022 CrossFit Games North American Quarterfinal was the deciding factor in ending her season.

Winning. Everything.

Despite setbacks, Anikha’s confidence and work ethic burn brighter than ever.

The 2022 CrossFit season saw Anikha competing at an elite level in her first international competitions — Wodapalooza, Canwest Games, the Madrid Championship, and the Rogue Invitational. She placed first in the Canwest Games and 1st in Canada in the worldwide open, setting her up for future heroics.

At only 19 at the time of writing, Anikha is a shining young star in her sport with an unrivaled upward trajectory. That has as much to do with her attitude as it does with her recent results. After all, when asked what she wants to do now, she keeps it simple:

“I want to win.” But what does she want to win? Well, that answer’s even simpler:

“Everything."
