It’s a beautiful day at Blendz! Today, we’re beyond stoked to share that the National Football League’s Simi Fehoko has joined the Blenders Entourage as a sponsored athlete.

We’ve always wanted to have a presence among the NFL’s top up-and-comers, and now, Simi is granting us that opportunity. But as excited as we are to have him rep us and our gear, we’re equally as thrilled to bring you his story. Because once you get to know Simi, no matter how you feel about that team down in Dallas, you’re gonna be a fan. Trust us.

Dreams of Dallas

Some things are meant to be, and for Simi Fehoko, it was playing ball for the Dallas Cowboys.

Don’t take our words for it… or even Simi’s. Just look at the photographic evidence. Here is a young Simi in his very first Halloween costume, proudly displaying the #8 for former quarterback Troy Aikman.

Taking the field for “America’s Team” is a childhood aspiration for many, sure, but it’s ultimately a dream that retreats to the recesses of the mind and is forgotten as the years stack up and the realities of life pile on. Not so for Simi, even if he waited a bit longer than some to realize it.

A Dream Delayed

Simi, like all our Blenders Entourage athletes, has a passion for Living Forward. But unlike many of them, he voluntarily took time off from chasing his first dream—playing professional football—to pursue a dream of service.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Simi pumped the brakes on catching the pigskin and instead jumped straight into a two-year mission in Seoul, South Korea out of high school. The sacrifice? Delaying the start of his Stanford playing career as a scholarship athlete. The rewards? Many.

Simi credits his trip to Seoul for the kind of maturation he wouldn’t otherwise have developed. Cooking, cleaning, laundry—it was all learned overseas as a reality of his mission work.

“Makes you grow up real fast,” Simi says of his mission in Seoul.

Simi’s South Korea excursion offered structure and served as a healthy foundation for all that would come in his playing career and personal life.

Football in Forward Motion

Dallas Cowboys WR Simi Fehoko with NFL footballReturning to America, Simi enrolled at Stanford with a new perspective, but he never lost his football focus. He’d go on to tally an 18.5-yard average per reception with the Cardinal—good for third in school history—and secure 2020 All-Pac-12 First Team honors. And before leaving school, he’d marry his longtime girlfriend, Bailee Larson, because after seeing the world, he wanted to give it to her.

On August 28, 2020, Simi declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. Selected in the 5th round, he’s just now completed his rookie season. While COVID caused him to miss important developmental time on the field, Simi is hyped for his second season and determined to become the best receiver in his draft class. He’s all about the power of positivity. It’s how he turned a costume into a uniform—a dream into a reality. And all along, he’s done it the right way, putting family and service first.

Simply put, Simi Fehoko’s a guy you want on your team, and we’re so happy he’s now a part of ours. Welcome to the Entourage, Simi!

Be sure to return to the blog in the coming days for an interview with Simi re: his early years, mission work, family life, and league outlook.
