Desert Daze 2022 Recap: ‘A Psychedelic Freak Out,’ Says Randy Randall

Back to Articles

Groundbreaking Grammy-nominated musician/composer, Randy Randall, recently electrified Desert Daze Festival in Lake Perris, CA alongside Tame Impala, Black Country, New Road, and many others. Below, he recaps the magic of the event exclusively for our readers.

If you have never experienced the psychedelic freak out that is Desert Daze Fest, you gotta go. They have the most eclectic lineup of huge names and up-and-coming, soon-to-be-big names.

The focus is on having an experience. You can camp on-site to not miss a single second of all the action. There is even a yoga sound bath every morning at the campsites to help you realign your chakras before going out into the wild day ahead of you. The stages are all set up just a stone’s throw from Moreno Beach on Lake Perris. If you need a break from the heat, you can grab a fun floaty and go relax while waves of music wash over you. It’s a full immersive experience, complete with great on-site food trucks, tons of water, and drinks flowing all day and all night long.

Thousands of partygoers attend Desert Daze, all curious and excited to have their minds blown by bands like Tame Impala, King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard, and Beach House. Tons of local artists have installations all over the grounds, and The Sanctuary is a 360-degree immersive dome projection chill-out zone to cool off and recharge.

Grab your tickets for next year. You don’t want to miss out! - Randy

More on Randy Randall

Curious what else Randy’s up to? He recently dropped his latest solo album, September’s Sound Field Vol. 2020, a sweeping series of ambient compositions acting as a meditation on the global pandemic and an exploration of life in lockdown. And now, his LA-based experimental punk group, No Age (equal parts Randy and drummer/vocalist Dean Sprunt), is touring nationwide in celebration of their new album, People Helping People.
